IFHE connects individuals and organisations from almost 60 countries. It benefits from an active membership and serves as a platform for international exchange (see membership in the regions).
Our members are researchers and practitioners from diverse Home Economics disciplines. They foster new knowledge through research and empower families and their communities to develop the capacity for agency. IFHE members work in academia from early childhood to higher education, in community services and education or agricultural extension, in businesses, government or health services, among others.
We use our special access to UN platforms to address multi-dimensional economic, social and ecological aspects that are key to achieving a quality of life for all. IFHE promotes education for the responsible use of resources at various levels, e.g.
