Home Economics Education in New Zealand - A Position Statement
The paper was commissioned in the context of the New Zealand Curriculum/Marautanga project. The purpose of this paper is too:
- provide an outline of the understandings (Nationally and internationally) of what contemporary home economics education is
- clarify the location of home economics within the draft materials for health and physical and other learning areas
- identify its relationship to the key competencies
- identify barriers and enablers pertaining to students learning related to home economics.
