The International Day of Family 2013 focuses on “Advancing Social Integration and Intergenerational Solidarity”.
Socio economic development often is concomitant with inequalities, disparities or marginalisation of certain groups. Unemployment and poverty based on economic crisis or a less developed economic infrastructure are main reasons for social fragmentation and polarisation. The World Summit for Social Development (Copenhagen, 1995) especially defined the objective social integration as an important democratic value.
