Education sector Global HIV & AIDS Readiness Survey

A new report “Education Sector Global HIV & AIDS Readiness Survey 2004: Policy Implications for Education and Development” has just been published. It documents the outcomes of the first international survey of education sector readiness to manage and mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS.

 

Education contributes toward the knowledge and personal skills essential for the prevention of HIV, and the mitigation of the impacts caused by AIDS.

UNAIDS Inter-Agency Task Team (IATT) on Education
This team was created in 2002 to support accelerated and improved education sector responses to HIV and AIDS. It is convened by UNESCO.

UNESCO Online Platform

UNESCO opens online platform for planning multi-stakeholder implementation of WSIS Plan of Action

UNESCO has now opened an online platform to facilitate initial contacts among stakeholders and to launch activities under the Action Lines of the Geneva Plan of Action that are in the area of competence of the Organization.

This includes the following action lines:

  • C3: Access to information and knowledge
  • C7: E-learning and E-science
  • C8: Cultural diversity and identity, linguistic diversity and local content
  • C9: Media
  • C10: Ethical dimensions of the Information Society
